C. Richard Oren began his legal career in 1980 after graduation from Louisiana
State University Law Center and admission to the Louisiana State Bar. Mr. Oren
gained experience in oil and gas law while employed with Gulf Oil Corporation and
Chevron Corporation during the 1980's. Since entering private practice, Mr. Oren
has represented the interests of individuals, small business owners and local
government. In 1990 Mr. Oren was admitted to the Indiana State Bar and has
primarily practiced in the State of Indiana since that time. Currently Mr. Oren is
licensed to practice in both Indiana and Louisiana in all courts, state and federal.
In addition Mr. Oren is admitted to the bar of the United States Supreme Court.
PRACTICE AREAS:
--Criminal Defense:
Mr. Oren provides trial level and appellate level services to criminal defendants.
In over 25 years of criminal litigation, Mr. Oren has defended individuals accused of
white collar crime, possession and dealing of narcotics, sex offenses, armed robbery,
burglary, fraud, DUI cases, and domestic violence. Mr. Oren has represented his
clients in numerous state courts, federal courts, and has argued before the United
States Supreme Court.
--Personal Injury Litigation:
Mr. Oren has represented plaintiffs in numerous litigations in both Indiana and
Louisiana. Mr. Oren has recovered damages for individuals injured by medical
negligence, negligence in the operation of vehicles, and defective products.
--Bankruptcy:
Mr. Oren represents both Debtors and Creditors in proceedings in Chapter 7, 11,
12 and 13 in both the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana.
--Small Business Representation:
Mr. Oren provides advice and assistance in the incorporation and/or organization
of small businesses in Indiana. In addition, Mr. Oren provides litigation support and
representation of small business for matters where legal representation is not
provided through insurance coverage
